On this private day trip from Hurghada, you’ll travel comfortably with your own driver and a knowledgeable, German-speaking guide to the former capital of the New Kingdom, once called “Thebes” by the ancient Egyptians.

After a scenic drive through the eastern desert, you’ll reach the west bank of the Nile and the famous Valley of the Kings. Here, carved deep into the rock, lie the burial chambers of numerous pharaohs, including the world-renowned, almost perfectly preserved tomb of Tutankhamun. The elaborate wall paintings and hieroglyphs depict concepts of the afterlife, gods, and the pharaohs’ path to eternal life. Your guide will vividly explain the symbolism and historical context, allowing you to fully grasp the significance of this unique site.

The journey continues to the mortuary temple of Hatshepsut, one of Egypt’s few female pharaohs. This monumental temple, built into the rock in terraces, impresses with its clear architectural lines and spectacular location against the backdrop of steep limestone cliffs. Finally, on the east bank of the Nile, the imposing Karnak Temple awaits – the largest temple complex of antiquity. The famous hypostyle hall, with its 134 colossal, intricately decorated columns, never fails to amaze visitors and powerfully conveys the might and wealth of ancient Egypt.

As this is a completely private excursion, you have complete flexibility and are not bound to fixed group schedules.
